Getting off the boat at Central Quay we stopped for a cuppa and a cake to keep the hunger at bay and then walked up the quayside opposite the Opera House.
A lady was trying to take photos of husband and kids and so I offered to take it for her, so I couldn't really refuse when she wanted to return the favour.

We then walked back into George Street where our hotel is situated and waited for the Big Bus. We've used Big Bus Tours all over the world as it's a good way of seeing the sights without aching feet. We normally start off by intending to get off the bus and explore interesting areas but inevitably we just end up staying on.

Sydney Conservatorium of Music
This Il Porcellino statue is an exact replica of the famous one in Florence originally sculpted in 1633. It sits outside Sydney Hospital and was donated in 1968 as a memorial to two honorary surgeons who worked there.
The Hyde Park Barracks; a heritage-listed former barracks, hospital, convict accommodation, mint and courthouse and now museum and café located at Macquarie Street.
This statue of Prince Albert (the Good) stands just outside it.

Although this building looks important, as far as I can find out it was just a warehouse owned by The Australian Steamship Navigation Company.
And our hotel, built in the 1920s for a photographic materials manufacturing company. It was turned into a hotel in 1980s and has been owned by several chains since then.
