Family Time 2 - Geelong

Today we all went into Geelong for a wander around the water's edge.

There are 104 of these whimsical bollards around the place.

I love this one of the lifeguards.

A new member for the military band?

This is a fresh water lido

Diving Platform

This looks like a purpose built paddling pool for the sea birds.

Pied Cormorant taking off, it took a lot of effort to get airborne.

It's very pleasant here and there's something wonderfully old fashioned about Geelong.

This Rainbow Lorikeet was posing beautifully for me and not too high up for once.

This is the Wangim Walk; a long, on-water, walkway stretching out over Corio Bay which gives a unique experience of walking on water and also protects the marina.

Cunningham Pier which apparently is now a car park with a few restaurants at the end!

I don't know if this is the same Pied Cormorant but it spent an age trying to manoeuvre the fish into a suitable position to swallow (it has to be a certain way otherwise the bones get stuck)

A trip to the seaside isn't the same without a few gull photos.

And finally, a few flowers.

Clivia miniata (South African Bush Lily)

Osteospurmum

Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos flavidus)

I'm sure I have an identical Iris at home.
