Today's outing was to Barwon Heads, a favourite spot of the family where the Barwon River meets the ocean.
Fishing is very popular here.

It was so calm the reflections were amazing.
Looking back towards "town" the light isn't quite as attractive.
I couldn't work out what was making these wave patterns, maybe one of Australia's famous rip tides.
We had a walk along the cliff path.
This memorial cairn commemorates a shipwreck in 1858 where 450 people were successfully rescued.
I think this is a Black-shouldered Kite - I really should have taken a photo of the species board at the start of our walk.
The boatshed in the distance was used as Diver Dan's home in the 90s TV show SeaChange
Some of the seaweed was very interesting - I've never seen pink seaweed before.
